This course is aimed at new or inexperienced company safety directors. The course will help those safety directors master the essentials. This course can be completed as quickly as you care to, depending on how much time you can devote to it. Note that we have set a 90 day period. The Safety Director course is an online, self-paced course that will assist new and experienced safety directors improve their skills. Through readings, web-searches, online discussions, and other directed activities, the students will improve their understanding of safety in their industry including OSHA requirements.

Outcomes:

The company will have a written, comprehensive, understandable training program?
The company will have in place a documented training program that covers applicable hazards?
The company will have identified "competent" persons with appropriate backgrounds?
The company will have developed site plans as appropriate?
The company will maintain its injury and illness log in a satisfactory manner?

Assessment:

In addition to the assignments for each unit, students will complete a major project such as develop and present safety training or develop written company policy for one or more topics.

Program Details:

The safety director course is targeted at new safety directors or safety directors with minimal experience. The goal is to provide the participants with the skills they need to be successful in their role as safety director.
